I inserted the batteries and discovered the added visibility would be helpful if I needed to pull over to the side of the road, especially in bad weather or at night. Ordered these off the TV ad. put 2 in boat and tossed the flares (who wants fire near gas). ordered 4 more and put 2 in car and 2 in RV. They work great. you are crazy not to toss the flares. I had flares in my cars since 1979, and every one I have ever used was expired. Kinda fun to mess around with when I was younger - and that is another reason flares are dangerous! Get rid of em. These LEDs work well.
